The Real Housewives of New Jersey Recap: Third Eye Blind

The Real Housewives of New Jersey celebrated the Summer Solstice by trying to open up their third eye chakra on last night's episode. Yeah, we don't know what that means either but we break it all down here in THG's +/- recap!

Teresa is excellent ... at placing blame. On taking responsibility, not so much.

First off she's still upset about her husband's black eye which of course is all Richie's fault. Minus 12. I'm sure poor Joe was just an innocent bystander in that scuffle.

Who is she kidding? But in usual Teresa fashion she can't let it go. She even tells Rich he could have poked his eye out.

Real Housewives of NJ Pic

Joe's a big boy. I'm sure he can fight his own battles.

Of course it's hard to tell who has the brains in the Guidice family. We know Joe's had at least one DWI, then was caught driving with a suspended license, and finally took someone else's ID to try and get a new license. Minus 15.

Somehow the guy can always find a way to make a bad situation worse.

Teresa cries about what's being said in magazine articles about her and her family but even Jacqueline realizes that Teresa's making her own problems there so Plus 8. She agreed to do the interview and I'm sure she got paid handsomely for it. Now she's crying?

While everyone's down the shore their problems simmer under the surface. The kids look like the only ones having fun but they're also allowed to run wild.

Kathy seems to only one to worry about the little ones playing around the water. And then we see the kids running in the street. Oye. Minus 10 because it looks like a disaster waiting to happen.

As Gia is seen screaming with fists clenched as she tries to discipline little terror, Milania, I wonder where she learned that behavior from?

Giudice, T.

But back to Teresa. The minute she hears that Caroline is going through menopause she decides that's the reason she's been such a bitch to her. Of course it has nothing to do with anything Teresa's done. Minus 9.

Back home, Caroline tries to encourage Lauren in her weight loss goal and the girl is looking thinner despite snarky comments from her brothers. Plus 10.

But Lauren's got some real self esteem issues. She seems to think making lots of money and being thin will help that. I don't think Lauren needs money as much as she needs to get out on her own and stand on her own two feet, without her family coddling her.

Then we're off to the Summer Solstice party where everyone wears white and hopes to cleanse the bad energy. Ha!

I have to mention, if Melissa's outfit got any shorter she might have gotten cited for indecent exposure. I think those were shorts, sort of. At least she's got the legs for it so Plus 10.

Jacqueline keeps trying to play mediator between Teresa and Melissa and quite literally throws the two together. Plus 8 for having good intentions but it's true. The road to Hell is paved with them.

First Teresa walks away because Melissa brought up that her husband went to jail. Is this some big secret? No but apparently there's special Jersey code that she failed to use. No one is supposed to mention jail or prison.

The correct protocol is to say that he went away. Minus 12. How sad is it that this is common enough in their lives to have a set of rules for discussing it.

Poor Jacque

When Teresa storms off, Jacqueline follows but Teresa's upset that Melissa didn't chase after her. She is such a drama queen.

When Melissa gets dragged out there again, she finally tells Teresa how ticked off she is that she's running around basically saying that Melissa's a cheater. Plus 8 for finally calling out the elephant in the room.

But Teresa's not about to apologize. She's heard it from people. I always love the mysterious people reference as if that excuses anything she's said.

Then Teresa blames her brother for telling Melissa in the first place. Minus 7. As if he wasn't going to tell his wife!  But then again I wonder how much Teresa's husband hides from her.

If Jacqueline thinks she can fix any of this she's completely naive and she's probably going to have to pick a side in this war soon.

Unfortunately we never even get to the psychic readings. And Kathy wonders how things got so bad. The party had its own fairies for goodness sake.

So do you think Teresa's so fixated on Melissa cheating on Joe because she worries about her brother or is she just distracting herself from the fears that her own husband is cheating on her.  What are the odds?

Just another party in Jersey.

HBO Go and Max Go get Android 4.0 phone support, skip tablets for now

HBO Go and Max Go

Those with Android 4.0 phones like the HTC One X have been left out of watching HBO Go and Max Go on the road so far. New updates to the respective mobile apps take care of that: either premium channel will now stream directly to a phone running Google's latest OS (assuming you're subscribed to pay-TV, that is). Speed-ups and bug fixes are in the upgrades, too. Oddly, Android 4.0 tablets have yet to make the leap, ruling out your Transformer Pad TF300 for catching up on episodes of True Blood.

Obtaining Auto Responders, Is it Fantastic? | Style

All through the Net, autoresponders make for an good promotional tool. Despite the fact that the technical name is an autoresponder, other recognized names contain auto e-mail, mailbot, and e-mail responder. An autoresponder is a good way to save time, as it responds to any message with an automatic response.

Autoresponders can differ from messages that go by means of email to scripts that are programed to run on servers. All types of autoresponders perform the identical, as they will automatically send a message out when a message is received. Depending on the message they obtain, they will send out the proper return message. This can be determined by the script or the e mail address.

While they are terrific for promotional reasons, they are also widely abused all across the World-wide-web. Autoresponders are good to use for your everyday tasks, as they will basically do all of the work for you. On the other hand, they can also be pretty disastrous on those who take place to come in get in touch with with them.

When you submit your internet site to search engines, directories, or classifieds, you should really never attempt to use an autoresponder address. Most of these site types use autoresponders themselves, when they send out their messages. If their autoresponder happens to send a message out to your autoresponder, they will continue responding ? which can be pretty annoying.

When you determine to subscribe to an e mail or ezine you should certainly always use your valid email address and never ever use the address for your autoresponder. If you use your autoresponder to subscribe, probabilities are youll have your subscription revoked. It can be very annoying if a group sends out emails, only to unearth that your autoresponder keeps sending return messages. For that really purpose, you should never ever use your autoresponder address to subscribe to anything.

Autoresponders can be awesome to use, even though they can also be a hazard as well. Often instances, with subscriptions groups or ezines, it can be incredibly difficult to locate someone who is working with an autoresponder. In most instances, these who use an autoresponder dont have the similar reply or from address as they did when they signed up. In circumstances such as this it can take rather a lot of time and effort to locate the address.

If you take care of your autoresponder and do not use it to annoy other people or sing up for e-mail subscriptions, it should treat you properly. An autoresponder can do a planet of fantastic for your business enterprise, saving you a lot of time and effort. Autoresponders are uncomplicated to set up and simple to use, which is awesome news for everyone who isnt technical with the Web. For the cost they price and how simple and easy they are to operate autoresponders can make your Internet home business less complicated than ever ahead of How to Start a Business from zero

Is Russia now the strongest backer of peace in Syria?

Russia has emerged as a strong backer of Kofi Annan's peace plan for Syria, and is now hammering Western nations for not doing enough to support it.

Russia today challenged Western countries to get behind United Nations envoy Kofi Annan's peace plan for Syria, or accept the blame for its failure.

It's a new role for Russia, which endured months of accusations that it was blocking a solution for strife-torn Syria after it vetoed two UN Security Council?resolutions in the past several months?calling for the removal of Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad.? ?

But last month, Moscow threw its weight behind Mr. Annan's plan to end the year-long uprising, which has killed more than 9,000 people by UN estimates. It called for a withdrawal of all government forces from Syrian towns and cities, followed by a shaky cease-fire that went into effect last Thursday and appears to be just barely holding despite multiple violations alleged on both sides.

Speaking in televised remarks today, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov implied that the shoe is on the other foot now, with Moscow strongly backing the UN peace plan for Syria and willing to hold both Mr. Assad and his opponents to task but, he alleged, the effort is being undermined by unnamed Western and Arab countries.

"There are those who want Kofi Annan's plan to fail," Mr. Lavrov insisted. "Today, those who from the beginning foretold the failure of Annan's plan are doing a lot to see to it that this prophecy comes true? They are doing this by delivering arms to the Syrian opposition and stimulating the activity of rebels who continue to attack both government facilities and civilian facilities on a daily basis."

The cease-fire remains "quite fragile" because of the reluctance of those outside forces to fully back the Annan plan, Lavrov suggested, although he added that Assad bears a share of blame for the continuing uncertainty. "Of course, government forces are also taking measures to react to such provocations, and as a result it is not all going very smoothly yet," he said.

Facebook Valued at Up to $95B in IPO Price Range :: EDGE Boston

NEW YORK (AP) - Facebook, the company that turned the social Web into a cultural and business phenomenon, is worth as much as $95 billion, according to the price range for its upcoming initial public offering of stock.

Facebook?s IPO, expected in a couple of weeks, would be the biggest ever for an Internet company. Facebook disclosed the price range of $28 to $35 per share in a regulatory filing Thursday.

At the high end, Facebook and its current shareholders could raise as much as $13.58 billion - far more than the $1.9 billion raised in the 2004 offering for current Internet IPO record-holder Google Inc. The IPO valued the company at $23 billion. Google is now worth about $200 billion.

Facebook Inc.?s IPO has been highly anticipated, not just because of how much money it will raise but because Facebook itself is so popular. The world?s largest online social network has more than 900 million users.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who turns 28 this month, has emerged as a wunderkind leader who?s guided Facebook through unprecedented growth from its scrappy start as an online hangout for Harvard students.

Facebook?s offering values the company at $76 billion to $95 billion, based on the expected number of Facebook shares following the IPO. That?s about 2.74 billion, according to Renaissance Capital, an IPO investment adviser. The value is set by multiplying the number of shares by the expected stock price.

Facebook?s next step is an "IPO road show," where executives talk to potential investors about why they should invest in the stock. On Thursday, Facebook posted a version of its road show online, with appearances from Zuckerberg; Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg; finance chief David Ebersman and other executives. The company said that putting the road show online was consistent with its focus on "authentic, engaging information."

"We think people?s lives will be better and really that the whole world will function better when there is more information and understanding out there," Zuckerberg says in the video, wearing a T-shirt and jeans as he usually does.

One of the most eagerly anticipated IPOs in history, Facebook?s was preceded by those from smaller social Web companies such as professional networking service LinkedIn Corp. and online game maker Zynga Inc.

Facebook?s stock is expected to price on May 17 and make its public trading debut on May 18. Facebook plans to list its stock on the Nasdaq under the symbol "FB."

The actual price could be higher or lower than Facebook?s given range, depending on investor demand. Online reviews site Yelp Inc., for example, set a price range of $12 to $14 and priced at $15 when it went public in March.

If Facebook ultimately prices at its stated maximum of $35 per share, the IPO would raise $11.8 billion. But underwriters are likely to sell extra stock reserved for overallotments, given the excitement surrounding the IPO. That would bring the IPO to $13.58 billion.

The midpoint of the expected deal size, without the overallotments, is $10.63 billion. That would put Facebook just a hair above AT&T Inc., at No. 5, when it comes to the largest-ever U.S. IPOs.

Despite the frenzy surrounding Facebooks offering, not all IPO watchers are impressed. Francis Gaskins president of IPOdesktop.com, said Facebook?s growth is "obviously slowing down" based on its most recent earnings report, for the January-March quarter.

While first-quarter revenue grew 45 percent from a year earlier to $1.06 billion, it declined 6 percent from the fourth quarter.

"The company is entering a maturation process," Gaskins said. "I think their core business slowed more than they thought for the past four months."

Zuckerberg, who founded Facebook in his dorm room in 2004, will keep tight control over the company even after the IPO. He will control 57.3 percent of the company?s voting power, through stocks he owns or because other shareholders have promised to vote his way through shares that they own. This means he will have final say over the biggest decisions facing the company even after it goes public.

Zuckerberg will likely own about 31.5 percent of Facebook?s outstanding stock after the IPO. At the high end of the expected IPO price range, his holdings will be worth $17.6 billion. This would put him at around No. 33 of the Forbes list of the world?s richest people, above the likes of Dell Inc. CEO Michael Dell and Microsoft Corp. CEO Steve Ballmer.

Zuckerberg is offering 30.2 million shares in the IPO and plans to use the proceeds to cover taxes. Other stockholders offering shares include early investors such as James Breyer of the venture capital firm Accel Partners, who?s offering 38.2 million shares. Peter Thiel, a PayPal co-founder-turned venture capitalist who first invested in Facebook in 2004, is offering 7.7 million.

Facebook?s expected valuation will easily surpass well-known corporations such as Kraft Foods Inc. and Ford Motor Co. The amount Facebook is trying to raise in the IPO would slot it among the world?s 25 largest IPOs, although as recently as November 2010, General Motors raised $15.8 billion when it shed majority control by the U.S. government.

Among the IPOs that rank higher than Facebook?s, according to Renaissance Capital, are Visa Inc.?s $17.9 billion IPO in March 2008, the largest for a U.S. company, and world-topper Agricultural Bank of China Ltd., which raised $19.3 billion in July 2010. These figures do not include extra shares issued to meet demand.

Nintendo patent application tech tracks your DS from above, serves as tour guide

Image

Nintendo is already guiding you through the Louvre with a 3DS, but a newly published US patent application takes that kind of tourism to a very literal new level. Legend of Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto's concept describes a way to direct lost tourists by beaming position information through an overhead grid of infrared transmitters to a mobile device (portrayed as a DS Lite) held by the confused visitor below. The handheld then talks wirelessly to a server that lights up floor displays with maps and directions, and a helpful app on the device lets visitors pick their route while they read up on sightseeing tips. Like with any patent, there's no certainty that Nintendo will act on the idea and start wiring up museums with IR blasters, but the January 2012 patent may still be fresh in a frequently inventive mind like Miyamoto's.
