Move Inc. is moving.
The online real estate company, which operates Realtor.com and lots of other sites and business, is shifting its corporate headquarters about 6 miles from its current corporate headquarters in Campbell, Calif., to downtown San Jose. The move is planned for late December or early January.?The company has leased 32,400 square feet of space at a 17-story building for the new headquarters.
?We?ve outgrown our space in Campbell, so we looked long and hard as to where we wanted to relocate and we decided on San Jose,? Jennifer DuBois, a Move Inc. spokeswoman, told us. ?It?s the heart of Silicon Valley. We love what the city is doing to revitalize the area. And they?re definitely business-friendly. ? We wanted to make sure we were moving somewhere vibrant, somewhere that?s fun to work.?
The company mapped the travel time of the workers at its Campbell headquarters as part of the relocation process. ?We wanted to make sure we didn?t affect their commute by more than 10 minutes,? DuBois said.
About 100 employees work at corporate headquarters for Move, ?and we have 10 open positions right now,? she said. Most of the openings are in the technology area ? app and mobile development.
