New York Franchisee Manages Reconditioning Work for Dealerships
January 08, 2013 // Franchising.com // Hartsdale, N.Y. - Mark Mega and David Lee have owned Colors on Parade of the Tri-State area since 1996. After working with the same automotive dealerships for 15 years, they have added a service to help dealerships manage their reconditioning work. Colors on Parade is a mobile provider of on-site paint repairs to vehicles.
?We want to be more than a vendor to the dealerships we work with by helping dealerships manage and control the cost of reconditioning,? Mega said. ?We can do this by implementing a system designed to lower costs by increasing productivity and improve labor selection. Dealership management is more informed and controls each step of the way. The clients that have implemented this system have greatly reduced reconditioning costs and their cars are front line ready much faster. This reduces overhead at the dealership. In the end, we want to partner with the dealership to save them time and money.?
Colors on Parade performs cosmetic repairs on doors, bumpers and wheels. Other vendors repair interiors and small dents. With the help of software company Laborgate, Lee and Mega have been able to launch a program to manage all of these vendors. Colors on Parade recently launched the program at Bridgeport BMW in Connecticut.
Mega and Lee left a contracting career to open Colors on Parade. The business has increased between 3 and 10 percent every year since its inception. Colors on Parade services Bergen County, N.J., Rockland County, N.Y., Westchester County, N.Y., and Fairfield County, Conn. As the area developers, they have eight franchisees in their territory.
?We have experience growth every year and the recession didn?t hurt our business,? Mega said. ?The reconditioning program we are starting is the perfect way to expand our services and collaborate with our clients to implement practices that will improve there reconditioning process.?
